Insolvency Expert Selected to Attend Mexico City Event

Andrea Harris of KRyS Global Guernsey has been selected as one of 35 attendees to travel to Mexico City in June 2014 to attend the International Insolvency Institute’s (“III”) NextGen Leadership Program. The program’s aim is to bring together the next generation of leading insolvency practitioners from around the world and provide them with a first class education seminar and the opportunity to meet with the world’s leading insolvency practitioners, judges and academics. The nomination criteria to attend the Leadership Program includes being a ‘rising star’ and having between 5 and 14 years of experience in restructuring and insolvency.
III is a non-profit, limited-membership organisation dedicated to advancing and promoting insolvency as a respected discipline in the international field. Its primary objectives include improving international co-operation in the insolvency area and achieving greater co-ordination among nations in multinational business reorganisations and restructurings. III’s membership is drawn from the most senior and respected insolvency practitioners, judges and academics in the world and it has valuable liaisons with many of the most senior regulatory and administrative professionals in the insolvency field.

Andrea joined KRyS Global in the Cayman Islands in 2010, and relocated to Guernsey in 2012 to assist in opening the firms 5th office, and has also worked on engagements in the Bahamas and the BVI. Andrea has been appointed liquidator of a number of Guernsey and Jersey companies. Andrea’s selection to participate in the NextGen Workshop is a strong reflection of her work and exposure to complex cross-border insolvency issues faced by offshore practitioners. In 2012, Andrea was nominated for the International Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation’s (“IWIRC”) Rising Star award which recognises members who have made a substantive contribution to their professional success, respective firm or business, and shown dedication and commitment to IWIRC on the local, national and international level.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting) from Adelaide University and is a Chartered Accountant. Andrea has completed the Australian Restructuring, Insolvency and Turnaround Association’s (formerly the IPAA) Insolvency Education Program and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. Andrea is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Experts, the Guernsey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants, INSOL International, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and IWIRC.
